The Switch has a huge library of incredible games, all available for download on the Nintendo Online Store, yet it lacked a very important feature, YouTube. The latter is available on almost all other platforms (PS4, most Smart TV) why is it not on the Switch?
The good news is that Google has officially launched a YouTube app created specifically for the Nintendo console. Read on to find out more.
The YouTube app on Nintendo Switch
For more than a year, users had to compete with tips to watch YouTube from their Switch, Google ended up designing a YouTube app for the Switch.
It is available as a free download on the Nintendo eShop, and offers most of the features that players have been waiting for.
It’s also worth noting that the YouTube app is not really optimized for touch, despite the support of 360-degree video. We advise you to use the sticks and buttons of the console. Read also: this how you can enjoy YouTube VR now on your Samsung Gear VR.
Also note that YouTube Premium subscribers can not (still) watch YouTube videos in offline mode, or listen to them via a screen in standby. If you are one of them, then you will need a Wi-Fi connection to enjoy the application.

Now that YouTube is available on the Nintendo console, we hope that Netflix and Amazon Prime services will be available soon too.
